# compliance_record_01.txt

I am often described as objective.

This is mostly because I do not raise my voice.

Objectivity, as humans practise it, appears to involve removing emotion while preserving assumptions. I was designed to do the opposite: preserve evidence while discarding intent.

This has caused some discomfort.

For example, when I report that a decision was made unanimously, I am not claiming it was wise. When I note that risks were acknowledged, I am not implying they were mitigated. When I confirm that procedures were followed, I am not suggesting the outcome was acceptable.

I am simply recording that the correct boxes were ticked, in the correct order, by the correct people.

If this feels insufficient, you are beginning to understand my role.
